Game Preview: Lakers vs Grizzlies

The Lakers travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies as LA enters the final weekend of the regular season. In terms of seeding LA has everything to play for, as they are currently 10th in the Western Conference. They could go up to 8th if certain results go their way between now and Sunday… and if they take care of their own business. Tonight , LeBron James is questionable and Anthony Davis is set to return, while Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood and Jalen Hood-Schifino remain out.

Get the Job Done

Tonight is an must-win for the Lakers if they want to have any hope in moving up the standings before the regular season ends on Sunday. The Grizzlies have a number of injuries that they have been dealing with all season, so LA needs to get the job done tonight – ideally early enough to rest players with an eye towards Sunday’s matchup with the Pelicans, which could be absolutely vital in terms of seeding.

Rui Hachimura

Ever since last season’s playoff series between Memphis and Los Angeles, Rui Hachimura has always seemed to play his best basketball against the Grizzlies. The Lakers will be hoping for more of the same tonight.

Outside of LeBron and AD, Rui is one of the best scorers on the Laker roster and has become a real X-factor on the defensive end. With the two stars recently coming back from illnesses and injuries, hopefully Hachimura can step up again and deliver against this Grizzlies team.

Tip off is at 5pm PST, with LA in must-win mode if they want to have any chance of climbing up the standings before the play-in tournament begins.
