The Lakers will take on their great rivals the Boston Celtics tonight in a highly anticipated matchup. The Celtics hold a league best record at 21-7 and, although coming off back to back losses, are an extremely tough and well-rounded team. The Celtics will look to avenge the loss they took to the Clippers last night and also snap their two-game losing streak.

The Lakers will look to start their three-game home stand with a statement win over the Celtics. LA is coming off a win over the Detroit Pistons and finished their six-game east coast road trip 3-3. They currently sit 12th in the Western conference with a 11-15 record , 3.5 games out of the sixth seed.

Injury Report

Lakers stars Anthony Davis and Lebron James are both probable, while Wenyen Gabriel and Juan Toscano-Anderson are both out. For the Celtics, Danilo Gallinari, Al Horford and Robert Williams are all out. All in all, the stars will be out to shine. Both teams’ superstar duos are expected to be available tonight in Crypto.Com Arena.

Green Monsters

The Celtics superstar wing tandem Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been wreaking havoc on the league all season long. Brown, one of the most underrated stars in todays game, is averaging 26.6 points and 7 rebounds for the season (both career highs). His teammate Jayson Tatum is averaging 29.7 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds, (also both career highs).

Best in the Business

Anthony Davis and Lebron James will look to outshine Boston’s superstar duo and help carry the Lakers to a big win. It’ll have to be all hands on deck for L.A in order to try and contain Brown and Tatum. To do so, they should attack the Boston bigs. With Robert Williams and Al Horford out, the Celtics will have a lack of big man depth to try and contain and Anthony Davis. The Lakers need to make this a point of emphasis in their offensive scheme. The Celtics will lack a real presence around the rim so you have to imagine they’ll try and trap Davis and get the ball out of his hands. If they succeed, the Lakers role players need to knock down their open shots in order for L.A to win.
